London Chimney - We can evaluate the condition of your chimney
I Need My Chimney Evaluated
|
Whether
you are experiencing problems with your
existing fireplace and chimney system
or considering a new project, you need
a company with the technical knowledge
and delivery capabilities adequate to
the challenge.
Bay
Area contractors, real estate agents,
homeowners and property managers have
relied on London Chimney Services since
1977 for all of their chimney and fireplace
needs, such as:
-
Chimney Flue Liners
-
Installation of rain caps and spark
arrestors
-
Waterproofing
-
Brick and mortar work
-
New fireplace construction
-
Solving smoking problems
-
Installation of EPA-approved fireplaces
and stoves
-
Dampers
The
process begins with a thorough system
evaluation. Our Certified Technician
performs a 15 to 25 point inspection
of all visible components of the system
and if required, conducts an internal
scan of the chimney flue utilizing a
state-of-the-art Chim-Scan™ camera,
especially under conditions where a
visual inspection alone, cannot detect
cracks, fissures or voids in the flue
liner.
The
evaluation is documented in a comprehensive
report that includes a Summary Diagnostic
reporting areas of concern, supported
by digital pictures as seen here, and
providing a firm price bid on the recommended
repairs and/or upgrade.
Evaluation
reports are sent within 48 hours of
the appointment date and can be faxed,
mailed and/or e-mailed.

London’s
diagnostic and imaging capabilities,
both by means of its state-of-the art
scanning equipment and digital cameras,
provide homeowners, agents or contractors
with an objective evaluation of any
system.
Most
chimney fires occur because of pre-existing
cracks in the liner system. Our advanced
internal chimney viewing equipment allows
us to spot cracks and missing mortar
between the liner joints as seen in
the pictures above.
All masonry chimney construction materials
will suffer accelerated deterioration
as a result of prolonged contact with
water. A chimney with no cap and not
waterproofed will eventually lead to
significant damage to the chimney crown,
cracks in the firebox, rusted metal
parts such as the damper and deterioration
of the liner mortar joints.

We
were impressed with the technical analysis, the
practicality of the solution
(others tried to oversell us), the professionalism
of the execution.
